The Times’ Roger Boyes discusses Trump’s potential changes to US policy on the Middle East, including a potential “rehabilitation” for Netanyahu, who he says has been “sidelined under the Obama administration”.

On the thawing of relations between Egypt and Hamas, The Guardian reports the commuting of former Egyptian President Morsi’s death sentence, which was handed down as a result of an attempted Hamas-orchestrated jail break.

The i reports on Israeli archaeologists’ new project to find more ancient scrolls, with a three year plan to search more caves in the area of the Dead Sea.

All major Israeli dailies – Yediot Ahronot, Ma’ariv, Ha’aretz, Jerusalem Post, Israel HaYom and Times of Israel – report on the progress of the Legalisation Bill to the Knesset this morning. They speculate about how coalition members will vote, whether the bill will even garner a majority, and note the dilemma for Prime Minister Netanyahu in retaining the settler vote while managing international pressures.

They also report on Israel’s appointment of a new Ambassador to Turkey, ending the period of cool diplomatic relations following the 2010 incident on board the Gaza-bound protest ship Mavi Marmara.

Yediot Ahronot reports on the alliance of the Haredi and Arab parties against the Muezzin bill. The Bill, which was passed by the Knesset Ministerial Committee for Legislation yesterday and should have progressed to the Knesset, was blocked by an appeal by Health Minister Yaakov Litzman (UTJ). The Haredi parties fear that attempts to remove loudspeakers from Houses of Prayer could eventually harm their tradition of sounding a siren to signal the approach of the Sabbath.

Yediot Ahronot, Ma’ariv and Ha’aretz report on accusations that the PM’s lawyer, David Shimron, represents a company that benefitted from a deal signed by the PM to buy three German submarines which was allegedly agreed despite objections from the IDF.
