Both the Daily Express and Daily Star cover a protest outside the Qatari Embassy in London yesterday, organised by pro-Israel activists. In the Israeli media, Maariv leads with the latest round of talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid over the 2015 state budget. Tensions between the two were reportedly high last week with Lapid refusing to raise taxes to help cover the cost of Operation Protective Edge, while Netanyahu opposed Lapid’s solution of extending the deficit. In a meeting yesterday, the two apparently resolved many of their differences, although disagreement over the extent of increasing the defence budget remains.
In a related item, Yediot Ahronot leads with a report that the IDF intends to purchase hundreds of protected Namer armoured personnel carriers, as part of the recommendations following Operation Protective Edge. Meanwhile, Israel Hayom also includes a prominent item which reports that defence establishment officials have said that they need more money.

Israel Radio news covers comments made last night by Prime Minister Netanyahu who warned that it would be a grave mistake for the world to ease its demands over Iran’s nuclear development in order to mobilize Tehran in the battle against ISIS.
