Their religion is not mine (Israel Hayom)
– “The Middle East is going through a period of political and religious radicalization. Religious and extremist forces have gained a political foothold and threaten to transform the region. This is a sad outcome for the enormous promise embodied in the Arab Spring. Unfortunately, Israel too is experiencing a wave of political and religious radicalization. Using democracy against itself, or exploiting its weakness, actions are being taken that threaten the founding principles of our political system.
I grew up in a traditional home. I am no stranger to the Jewish religion, commandments, customs or spirituality. In my home growing up, as in many other homes, religion and mitzvot were performed out of love. Tradition was something that brought people closer, built ties and strengthened community and fellowship.”
