“A new report by Shaul Arieli, one of the initiators of the Geneva Peace Initiative and one of Israel’s leading experts on borders, explodes a popular and dangerous myth: that the West Bank settlements have killed the peace process by making it impossible to divide the land and create a viable Palestinian state.

One of the dirty little secrets of Israeli politics is that the extremes of Left and Right collude in this myth. Why? Because both hate and want to kill the two state solution. The hard-Right because it dreams of a Greater Israel. The far-Left because it dreams of a ‘state for all its citizens’ between the river and the sea. Competing delusions, yes, and a toss-up which is more dangerous.”
